September’s Free Monthly Project

Long Case Curio Cabinet - September 2012
Long Case Curio Cabinet – Free Monthly Project

Klockit is really excited to introduce September’s free monthly project download, The Long Case Curio Cabinet plan!

While we have always been renowned for clock case assemblies and plans, Klockit has recently been introducing more and more plans for functional furniture pieces. These plans have quickly caught the eye of our loyal customer base and have assisted many to create beautiful heirloom furniture pieces. We are certain that this month’s project selection will be no different!

The free September project offers two additional bonus incentives that are rather unique.  The first incentive is that this project (like all Klockit’s Monthly Projects) is absolutely FREE.  Just sign in and download this, as well as any other projects you would like.  If you are not currently a member, simply complete the short registration process to sign up.

The second incentive is for those customers that have always wanted to build their own Grandfather clock, but have felt apprehensive.  What does a Grandfather clock have to do with a curio cabinet assembly, you ask?  While the Long Case Curio Cabinet plan will bring together aspects involved in creating a quality furniture piece, it will also include machining and construction aspects that can be applied to Grandfather Clock Case fabrication as well.  As with our Grandfather clock plans, the September project will detail router bit recommendations for all the various profiles shown.  It will also include instructions on how to simplify construction for the decorative base and crown molding pieces.  These machining functions, as well as details in regard to rail and stile case construction, provide a great starting base for novice and intermediate woodworkers to gain “hands on” experience and proceed with one of many Grandfather clock case plan options available.

If you have ever considered making your own Grandfather clock case, or your own quality wood furniture pieces, then consider giving Klockit’s September’s Free Monthly Project a try.  After all, there is nothing to lose…

Your Atomic clock that has the day light saving automatic up date will not work in San Diego CA. Reason, there is the rocky mountains in the way. I have a radio controller clock from Brookstone and have to manually change and set the clock.
