An Inside Look of Design Inspirations, Creation & Stories From Klockit's 40 Year History
Klockit customers will likely remember my blogs in 2012 regarding participation in craft fairs as a way to make extra income from sales of your woodcraft items.
I am pleased to report that 2012 was another good year for selling handcrafted items that I made in my own wood shop.
The best selling and most profitable item at my last show of 2012 was the wine rack made from Klockit’s #49049 plan. I sold out of inventory I had available at the show, and ended up taking orders for additional wine racks to be completed before Christmas. I even took one order for a custom wine rack similar to the plan but made to hold 48 bottles rather than 20 bottles.
Klockit has just added another wine rack plan #49875 – Prairie Wine Rack Plan – in the Spring 2013 catalog that will be featured at future shows.
Building these wine racks from Klockit plans is relatively inexpensive, simple and not very time consuming. It is also easy to modify the wine rack plan design to accommodate more or less bottles to your liking.
There are many, many wine enthusiasts and they love having their wine on display! Wine racks make great gifts for weddings, anniversaries, birthdays, etc. But best of all, you can sell them at prices that are both profitable and competitive with what people are paying for mass produced racks – that are in no way comparable to the quality construction or materials of the custom made wine racks you will produce.
