An Inside Look of Design Inspirations, Creation & Stories From Klockit's 40 Year History
Stay one step ahead of the storm with AcuRite’s portable lightning detector! It’s the perfect grab-and-go device for outdoor enthusiasts who need to be aware of inclement weather. Read our review below to find out how this lightning detector works, what its most notable features are, and who should buy it.
This lightning detector alerts users of cloud-to-ground, cloud-to-cloud and intra-cloud lightning strikes within a 25-mile range of the device. Once lightning has been detected, users are alerted with an audible alarm, flashing red LED light, and message on the main screen. The main screen also displays a running total of detected lightning strikes and an estimated distance of lightning-producing storms.
Not only is this device pocket-sized and portable, it’s also weather resistant! You’ll be able to take this lightning detector anywhere without worrying whether it’ll get ruined by outdoor elements. We also like that this device prevents false lightning strike detection with its enhanced interference rejection capabilities.
We would recommend this device to golfers, fishermen, coaches, and anyone who spends a large amount of time outdoors and needs to be aware of inclement weather. Purchase for yourself or as a gift – the price is right for this portable lightning detector!

is a good machine but I want to ask if it’s going to change distance from miles to km thanks
Hi John, good question. Unfortunately this portable lightning detector does not have the ability to change the distance from miles to km.
So why is it’s right below mi km interesting. So it would go, but as it was supposed that is the question
Hi John, this device only measures the distance of lightning strikes in miles at this time. It does not have the ability to convert or display in km.
